Before time began, the mighty gods descended from the heavens. They created the universe and all the laws that govern it. They fashioned four elements and created balance, whispered life, light and beauty into all things. All this they dreamt out of the dark dead universe and a drop of their own life force.

Their labor complete, the gods departed for the heavens. They left behind the Quadforce, an all-powerful artifact which would grant its holder the power to rule the world. Alas there was one god who rebelled against the creations of the other gods, one who craved darkness and entropy. He who sought to corrupt the quadforce and form mutant forces that were dark and evil. Upsetting the balance so carefully created by the gods. This was the origin of evil.

The gods having noticed this imbalance and chaos, challenged the evil god and banished him into the darkness. Alas, even from the dead of the dark universe, there remained a thread between this evil and the new world beneath. For he, also, had poured his lifeforce into the mutations he formed, in every act of evil, he lives and grows stronger. To this day the struggle for balance continues, the fight to restore good and banish evil remains.

The original sin has upset the balance of the world irreparably. During the final era of the 1000 year war, the Gods themselves fought over the quadforce, and having been through immense strain during the conflict between good and evil, the artefact broke into four major elements and a million little shards scattered to the four winds.

Now, it's up to the adventurers, farmers and miners to right the wrongs of the gods. They must find and unite the quad force thus restoring the balance within the galaxy.
